On 12th May 2021 I took part in my 4th of 11 marathons in 11 days. Every Day from this point onwards is a challenge I have never done, pushing my limits, and I really have no idea what to expect each day. I am concentrating on recovery in the evening with baths, massage gun and compression tights. I’m also eating lots, but frankly I’m not watching what I’m eating. I’m eating anything and everything and also having a few beers each evening too. Nothing stupid, but I need to get comfortable for these 11 days. I woke up on Day 4 like clockwork. My ankle had stopped hurting from the night before, but now I had a painful shin. Lots of aches, but my body felt OK, ready to try another sub 4 marathon.

I’m trying to mix up my kit, wearing different trainers each day, and today it was the turn of my London Marathon 2017 Launch 4. Another Marathon takes me to my 76th qualifying event towards the 100 marathon club.
We were back on the original route today, and lots of familiarfaces with a few joining for the odd event. I set off early again, and the first mile was a struggle, my shin and knee were screaming at me, but I kept it steady and as my body warmed up it eased. After about half way I no longer had any pain in my shin. I was also given some tape for my nipples, and this worked a treat.

I am pleased to have managed to keep the pace consistent once again. It is getting harder, but I keep pushing on with a smile on my face. The time on my watch is identical to yesterday with an unofficial time of 3:59:27. I think my official time will be 3:59:26. My hunger has reached a new level and I need to recover, but I’m looking forward to day 5.

I am happy that I’ve raised over £2,500 for Cancer Research. Thank you for all your donations. I also still have around 30 medals left for the #FunbusMarathon For you to complete your own virtual challenge and get one of my amazing medals, so it’s not to late to get involved. Please do get involved.

Good news on the tape for your chest – I was a bit concerned. And well done! I just signed up for your Funbus marathon as I reckon I can do 26.2 during the time you’re doing this if I can backdate it! And popped a donation your way on the Cancer Research page, too. Hope this gives a bit of cheer to spur you on, and I’ll send a thought your way when I’m running in the rain today.
