Day 6 of 11: 11 Marathons in 11 Days

On 14th May 2021 I took part in my 6th of 11 marathons in 11 days. Today was a good day, because at the half way point I reached half way of my #FunbusMarathon challenge. Each day I wake up surprised I can still move. To be honest I’ve not really been sleeping, my body did not feel to bad when I woke up, but I was so incredibly tired. I feel like I’m a little on autopilot now.

Day 6 #flatlay

It is getting harder to match my kit now, most of my clothes are blue and black, but will continue to have some fun on my #flatlay. Today I ran my 78th qualifying event towards the 100 marathon club. I look back at my first marathon, and how hard it was. Running a Marathon is such an achievement, so I am proud to be getting close to that 100 mark.

It was very cold this morning, but I am so glad the rain stayed away, and it was dry. I felt a little delirious at points in the run. I am so tired I was struggling to stay alert, and I just concentrated on keeping going and trying to sustain a constant pace. I had to remove stones from my shoes a couple of times, I tried ignoring them but I want to avoid blisters, so it was worth the time. On the last lap my right hamstring became painful, with sharp tingling pain. This is something I will have to watch and try to work on tonight in my recovery.

On time on Day 6

I was worried about falling off the pace so I picked it up towards the end, also being careful with my hamstring. I ended up going a little faster than I wanted but still a consistent 3:59:24 on my watch, with an official time of 3:59:23. I am now over half way so can start counting down… only 5 more to go.

Day 6 finish

We had a great surge yesterday and we have raised over £3,400 for Cancer Research. Thank you so much for all your donations. I also still have around 30 medals left for the #FunbusMarathon For you to complete your own virtual challenge and get one of my amazing medals, so it’s not to late to get involved. Please do get involved.

  1. Over half way, that’s amazing. My husband asked about the state of your chest again, he’s most concerned! He used to favour surgical tape in a little cross. Well done, another fab medal.
